VogoBill® -A Prepaid and Postpaid VoIP Billing System
VogoBill is a high performance voice-call routing and billing engine. VogoBill is capable of handling prepaid, postpaid and calling card billing - all in one box. Being independent of the voice network chosen, VogoBill will operate with legacy TDM networks or VoIP networks or a hybrid network containing both. VogoBill adopts a unique architecture that enables it to scale to an endlessly large number concurrent calls. VogoBill also allows you to scale your network horizontally as well as vertically with equally good results.
Why VogoBill®? The need for a high-quality but favorably priced telephony billing system is quite apparent. Solutions currently in the market either have a high price tag or are of very low quality. VogoBill specifically targets both small and large Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) who wish to add voice services to their offerings.
Billing Platform of Choice... VogoBill is highly timely for ITSPs operating in countries undergoing de-regulation of the telecom sector. Such ISPs will naturally begin to look at voice services as an additional offering to their clients. Traditional telephony services systems are usually extremely highly priced and not quite the choice of a small, or even large ITSP. VogoBill is the billing system of choice that will enable ISPs in such a position to rapidly roll out voice services in a cost-effective manner. VogoBill comes with highly competitive pricing plans that suite both small and large Internet Telephony Service Providers.
System Features: Prepaid and Postpaid Billing Engines for IP Phone Services VogoBill comes with integrated prepaid and postpaid billing engines. In prepaid operation, calls are accurately cut off as soon as their credit runs out with zero leakage. With post paid operation, credit limits may be set to enforce cost limits.
Integrated Calling-Card Platform Part of the VogoBill core is a calling card platform which uses the prepaid billing engine to manage calls associated with calling cards. Flexible Tariff-Plan Based Billing The different system users (prepaid and postpaid) as well as the different calling card batches can be assigned to different "tariff-plans". A tariff-plan (or "rate-plan") defines how much the various users / calling cards will be charged per minute to the different routes. Resellers are also assigned tariff-plans that specify how they will be billed.
Feature Rich Web-based Administration Interface 100% web control - you do not need to ask us to perform tasks that you prefer to do. VogoBill sports an advanced, feature-rich and very user friendly secured web-based administration interface. Administrators will have full control of every last feature in VogoBill through this interface. From provisioning of users accounts to tariff plan configuration, VogoBill’s web-based administration interface has it all.
Feature Rich Web-based Customer’s Portal This is a highly secured and intuitive web control portal that requires the customers’ email address and their PIN number to login over a 128-bit encrypted HTTPS session. Customers manage their account activities from their individual web portal. Account activities such as: • Automatic and manual account recharging • View their call histories (Call Detail Records, CDRs) • Setup their Speed Dial numbers • Setup their PINLess dialing feature • Update their account information (email address, billing information, telephone numbers, etc) • And lots more!
Reseller Interface: Unlimited Levels! VogoBill allows you to create resellers, resellers of resellers, resellers of resellers of resellers, ad infinitum! The billing is straight forward and transparent to the administrator of the system... and it does work! Detailed Call Detail Records (CDRs) VogoBill maintains reliable Call Detail Records (CDRs). CDRs may be viewed through the web-based administration interface or may be downloaded in a CSV format.
Media Gateway Independent Architecture VogoBill adopts an architecture that ensures complete separation of the voice-handling servers from the billing server. You do not have to be tied to a particular type of media gateway. This also implies that you can squeeze the most out of your [expensive] media gateways by relieving them of the load associated with billing operations.
Fast, Efficient and Reliable Communication VogoBill uses a binary routing and billing protocol called the VogoBill Routing and Billing Protocol - VRBP. Using this TCP-based protocol, VogoBill will receive and handle requests from the media gateways with extreme ease. The efficiency associated with binary protocols ensures a small network footprint, even at very high loads.
Pure C++ Multithreading Methodology VogoBill employs a multithreaded architecture, which ensures extremely efficient usage of system resources. More to this, VogoBill sports extremely low latency (order of 5ms) responses to routing / billing / balance requests from media gateways.
Database Backend Part of the reason for the scalability of VogoBill is the database backend. All system information such as users, tariffs, and CDRs are stored in a database. VogoBill's architecture allows you to completely separate the database backend from VogoBill.
Database Connection Pooling VogoBill maintains a pool of connections to the database for on-demand use. This ensures that valuable CPU and network time is not wasted in tearing down a connection that will only be set-up again 1 second later.
Load-dependant Resource Allocation VogoBill will allocate and decommission resources depending on the prevailing system load. For example, VogoBill may begin operation with a pool of 5 connections to the database. If the load demands more than 5 concurrent connections, VogoBill will keep growing the pool to meet the demand. When the demand diminishes, VogoBill will systematically decommission the excess resources.
Unlimited Scalability There are virtually no limits to the number of concurrent calls VogoBill may be configured for. VogoBill allows you to handle millions of calls by either a) adding more media gateways (horizontal scaling); or b) upgrading your existing media gateways to higher capacity (vertical scaling).
